We know you usually don’t wantNo Scrubs, but when it comes to skin care, well you do... so gather your products as we will take you through the steps for the ultimate at home facial!
This at home facial was put together in conjunction with Daniella from Blossom Brew, and RY subscribers can read Daniella's original version of the at home facial featuring many of Daniella's amazing all-natural skincare line (you can check out her skincare line here).
We recommend doing this weekly if you can make the time. The result will be clearer, glowing, smoother skin (without the beautician bills!).
Step 1 – Prepare your gorgeous face
Whip out a hair tie or headband and tie your hair away from your face - nothing ruins relaxation quicker than having your hair stick to your cleanser!
Make sure your face is clean of any makeup before you start by using a makeup wipe or a warm face washer.
Step 2 – Get your cleanse on
The first part of your facial should always begin with a gentle cleanse to get rid of unwanted dirt and oil. Wet your face with water before applying your go to cleanser and rinse off gently with warm water.
Step 3 – Scrub-a-dub-dub
Now that your face is all clean, it’s time towant yo scrub! Grab your exfoliator and use small circular motions to remove dead skin cells and any dry and flaky skin then rinse away gently with warm water.
Step 4 – Let’s get steamy
Steaming your face is an important part of any facial as it allows your pores to open up and helps eliminate impurities. Pour hot water from the freshly boiled kettle into a large bowl and add a few drops of essential oil of your choice such as lavender or geranium.
You can even add in some loose herbal tea leaves such as peppermint or chamomile if you want to enhance your day spa vibe. Grab a clean towel and cover it over your head with your face over the bowl and inhale the beautiful aromas into your skin for 5-10 minutes.
Step 5 – Mask o’clock
Autumn Box subscribers - now is the time you reach for the no-nasties Blossom Brew facial mask found in your Autumn Box (available online for anyone else!). Not only do they smell delicious but they’re filled with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to help hydrate and refresh your skin.
To use the mask you’ll need to add 1 teaspoon of the face mixture into a small ceramic bowl, add a few drops of water and mix to form a smooth paste. Either using your fingers or a clean brush, apply generously to your face and leave it on for 5-7 minutes or before the mask starts to dry and rinse off with warm water.
Step 6 – The finishing touch
Last but not least, apply a small amount of your favourite face oil to allow your skin to feel hydrated and nourished. Now take a good look in the mirror and admire your handy work, you’re looking rejuvenated and utterly gorgeous darling!
