Get Creative This Summer!

How do you unleash your creativity?

If you read our Summer RY Wellness Mag, you'd notice we're quite passionate about making time to be creative. 

Why? The benefits are endless!! 

Stress relief, to reduce anxiety, to switch off and get into a 'flow state', to pump some feel good chemicals through our body, for some laughter, for new friendships...the list goes on!

And so here are our tips for getting your inner creative on (no prior skills needed!) this summer...

Learn A New Skill

Sometimes as busy girl bosses, housekeepers and parents, we forget what its like to learn new things. So why not take the time this summer to finally start that DIY job you’ve been thinking about or taking that craft class your friends have been dragging you to. You can learn anything from soldering to computer programming to knitting these days, and with tons of great online programs available - how will you ever choose? If you want our recommendation we suggest finding an in-person class - it’s a great way to have fun with friends, and really switch off while someone else runs the show, as well as to walk away with some very cool creations! One that we can't recommend more highly - Polly Collective craft workshops. Have A DIY Spa Day

Who doesn’t love having soft, smooth skin from head to toe during the summer? After all, it is the season of sandals and shorts. But rather than spending a bundle at the spa, why not save money by hosting a spa day for friends (or enjoy one solo) in your own home. Simply whip up a natural and cheap homemade scrub of coconut oil and coffee, or give yourself a pedicure. Use our Retreat Day Plan (in all Summer Boxes) for a ready made pamper day at home!

Start A Veggie Garden 

Gardening, tending to an at home veggie garden, or even growing a few herbs, is an effective way to relieve stress and burn calories, not to mention it can also encourage healthier eating habits and save money too. So with a little hard work you too can enjoy fresh salads, herbs and other nutrient-packed foods right from your own backyard. 

Get Picking!

If you’re lucky enough to live close to fruit farms with a ‘you-pick’ operation, berry-picking is a great way to spend a summer’s day with family…What a fun and interesting way to get the yourself and the kids interested in healthy eating! And if you don't have any berry farms near you, why not make a day of it? A bit of a road trip, a picnic lunch and some fresh strawberries for dessert. Yum!

Making time to get creative is a perfect way to retreat yourself - because you're worth every minute you spend on you.
